Heritage Numismatic Auctions is pleased to announce the addition of well-known numismatist Warren Tucker to their staff. Warren has been a full-time dealer in coins since 1964, the last two decades devoted almost exclusively to world coins. According to Tucker, "I'm thrilled to be working once again with Steve Ivy and the other fine numismatists at Heritage, back in the center of the coin auction universe. Just a few of the advantages of working for the world's largest rare coin dealer and auctioneer are the amazing material that crosses your desk, and the great collections that you get to inspect while visiting consignors. For us coin lovers, it just doesn't get any better."

Warren became interested in coins at an early age, with his first purchase from B. Max Mehl's Rare Coin Encyclopedia in 1947. He was also encouraged by a cousin who was a bank teller during the late '40s and early '50s, "at a time when it was not unusual for commemorative half dollars, Indian cents, Seated coins, and even an occasional Bust issue to cross the bank counter. At Georgia Tech, Warren was a member of Delta Sigma Phi fraternity, along with fraternity brother John Hamrick.

To his first coin shop in Atlanta came customers with such interesting items as bags of Ptolemaic bronzes, and a hoard of BU Colombian 8 and 10 reales. According to Warren, "These 2 purchases sparked a passionate interest in world coins that continues today." In 1968, Warren joined Jack Boozer and Doug Weaver in business in Waco, Texas, where he first met Steve Ivy. Warren later moved back to Georgia, where he ultimately became a partner with John Hamrick at WorldWide Coin Investments of Atlanta. "World-Wide was one of the largest coin companies in the world at the time, and purchased such rarities as an 1894-S dime from Jerry Cohen, the Hydeman 1913 Liberty nickel (for $100,000), the Idler 1804 dollar ($80,000) from Abe Kosoff, an 1838-O half dollar, and an 1876-CC twenty cent piece. We exhibited these coins at numerous coin shows and the 1913 nickel was featured in an episode of Hawaii 5-O entitled The $100,000 Nickel." During the 1970s, Warren began more extensive travel throughout Europe and Asia to buy coins. In 1979, he first joined forces with Steve Ivy, opening an office in Atlanta. Associations with Richard Nelson and Ronald J. Gillio followed thereafter. After more than a decade in business for himself, Warren has once more joined forces with Heritage.

Sam's professional career at Heritage divides neatly into two parts. Sam joined Heritage Numismatic Auctions, Inc. in 1993 as an Auction Coordinator. Over the next five years, Sam ran the day-to-day auction operations, ultimately rising to Assistant Auction Director. He also first started calling auctions during these years.

After serving as a Senior Manager and Consignment Director in other collectible fields outside of numismatics, Sam returned to Heritage in 2002 as a Consignment Director in time to help Heritage's expansion into other collectible areas. In this important role, Sam travels the country assisting clients who wish to liquidate their collections of coins, paper money, decorative arts, and sports collectibles. To Sam, helping consignors make the best decisions to maximize their returns from the auctioning of their properties is the most rewarding part of his job.

Sam also holds auction licenses in several jurisdictions, and has hammered in excess of $150 million in collectibles as one of Heritage's primary auctioneers. During his elusive (but much appreciated) free time, Sam really enjoys spending time with his wife (Heather) and two children (Jackson and Caroline). His personal interests include gardening, golf, grilling, and sports.

Scott Cordry has been collecting coins since he was a lad of 10, in 1959. Like many other numismatists, he started with a Redbook and a few of the blue Whitman Cent, Nickel and Dime folders. When the American coins that he needed got too expensive ("that is, when they were more than face value"), Scott began to collect world coins. His first interest was in Swedish coins, engendered by a visiting semi-athletic team that passed through San Diego. He eventually moved on to Islamic coins, just to have an area of interest guaranteed to have less competition for buying, and that presented serious intellectual challenges.

After graduating from high school in 1967, Scott studied History at Cal-Berkeley for four years. He spent his junior year at the University of Lund in Sweden, studying History, Scandinavian Languages, and semi-athletic teams. He graduated from UC Berkeley with "great distinction" and Phi Beta Kappa honors. After college, he worked for Worldwide Coins in Atlanta for a few months before going into business for himself, and then in partnership with Freeman Craig. In 1975, Scott again decided to pursue world coins independently, and he has been in the foreign coin business ever since.

Scott is a member of the ANA, NI, AINA, ONS and IBNS, and has been a member of the IAPN as well, from 1979-1993. In addition to his private sales, Scott has been cataloging world coins for Heritage World Coin Auctions since October of 2002.

In March 2007 Chris was promoted to the position of Wholesale Sales, where he assisted Heritage's dealer clients in locating the coins they needed to fill their inventories, as well as travelling to shows to work at the Heritage table. Then in August 2008 Chris was again promoted, this time back into the US Coin Consignments department as a Consignment Director where he now assists our valued consignors in realizing the highest prices possible for their collections at auction.

Chris is married to his beautiful bride Jen and they have 2 children (Hannah, 4 years old; and Isaac, 2 years old). Marc Emory was born in northern Virginia, where he grew up as the son of a Washington correspondent of a newspaper in Upstate New York. A child of the Washington political scene, he was visiting the White House at age 13, and Capitol Hill many times before that. Like so many children of Washington, he attended the Sidwell Friends School. He than was accepted for the Schoolyear Abroad program in Spain, then sponsored by the two Phillips Academies (Exeter, NH and Andover, MA). After the year in Barcelona, he went on to graduate from Andover (1970), and four years later graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania (1974), with a degree in Spanish. He always had an interest in languages, and while at Penn got his introduction to German and Swedish, in addition to continuing his studies in Spanish and Russian from high school. In addition to those four languages plus Catalan, a byproduct of his year in Barcelona, he has since learned French, Italian and Dutch.

Always interested in collectibles, he was impressed from early childhood by the Smithsonian collections of both coins and minerals, which were within walking distance of his father's office at the National Press Building at 14th and F streets in Washington, D.C. He maintains an extensive collection of minerals at his German home, near the Rheinland city of Dusseldorf, which he shares with his wife of 25 years. His wife, Elisabeth, is a German native, and they speak German at home. Their two bilingual daughters currently attend universities in the United States, after secondary school education in Germany. Marc also has a collection of U.S. coins and an assortment of guitars hand-crafted by legendary luthier Bozo Podunavac. A musician by hobby, he has made recordings and done solo concert tours in his spare time, a commodity which he finds in all too short supply of late.

After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania, Marc joined one of the two firms that later merged in late 1982 to form Heritage. He is has been with the company without interruption since joining in August, 1975, and is now in his 33rd year with Heritage. He founded and oversees the operations of the Heritage Overseas offices, which are now in France (since 1979), Germany (since 1979), Switzerland (since 1984), and the Netherlands (since 1990). The Heritage offices in France, Switzerland and the Netherlands are all run by natives of those countries, coordinating in their own languages through Marc at the German office with the Heritage world headquarters in Dallas. The European offices, under Marc's supervision, in turn offer Heritage services to collectors, consignors and estate executors in their own countries and in their own languages, as well as to banks and Central Banks around Europe and the world.

Unlike most of today's professional numismatists, Todd did not start off as a collector. A twist of fate shortly after graduating college lead Todd to decline an offer from a prestigious Wall Street bank to join a former high school classmate who operated a small rare coin company in the Seattle area. At that time (1987), the rare coin industry was undergoing huge changes from the advent of NGC & PCGS grading and the growing computer technology that businesses were adapting to. Being new to the industry, Todd had an easier time than most embracing the new dynamics and soon discovered a personal passion for rare coins - and for working with high-level collectors.

Todd has already accomplished more than the vast majority of dealers will in a lifetime and he enjoys a reputation that is envied by the entire numismatic community. His first company was named by Inc. magazine as one of the nation's fastest growing private companies three years in a row (1989, 1990 & 1991). In 1991, he co-founded Pinnacle Rarities, a firm that specialized in servicing the rare coin industry's savviest and most prominent collectors. At 25, he was among the youngest people ever accepted to the Professional Numismatists Guild, and currently serves on its Consumer Protection Committee and its Legislation/Taxation Issues Committee. In 1992, he was invited to join the Board of Directors for the Industry Council for Tangible Assets, later serving as its Chairman (2002-2005). In the famous Phillip Morse Sale, he became the only person in history to purchase two separate $1mm+ coins during a single auction session! Todd served as President of Pinnacle until his decision to join us here at Heritage in May, 2006.

Although relatively new to Heritage, Todd was no stranger to a great many of Heritage's most prominent clients who had previously sought his counsel and found his expertise and integrity to be of great value. Over the years, our Consignment Directors had noted that so many of the finest and best performing coins being sold in Heritage auctions were linked to the same dealer . . . Todd Imhof. We made it a priority to recruit Todd and were delighted he accepted our invitation to join us here in 2006. He truly understands what a collector is trying to accomplish and has an uncanny ability to identify the perfect coins at the right prices. He really impresses clients and colleagues by his ability to navigate complex and difficult deals with unsurpassed professionalism.

We are very proud to have Todd on our our executive team and we're confident you'll benefit tremendously from his knowledge and integrity.

Todd is an avid competitive sailor and collector of fine wines and Olympic medals. He and his wife have two boys (ages 7 & 6) and a one-year old daughter.

Mike Sadler joined the Heritage team in September 2003. Mike's career roots however, are not from the coin collecting industry. After high school Mike attended the United States Air Force Academy earning a degree in civil engineering. Air Force pilot training followed, and Mike pinned on his silver wings in June 1985. After seven years flying various Air Force aircraft, he went to work for American Airlines where he still works today. More than once, Mike has surprised other Heritage employees serving as their pilot while they flew to shows, conventions, and to visit our clients throughout the country.

Like so many of our clients, Mike started putting together sets of coins from circulation when he was a small boy. Of course that collection grew and grew, and ultimately, it went to the auction blocks with Heritage in January 2004. Before coming to Heritage, his unlimited access to air travel enabled him to attend coin shows all around the country whenever he wanted. He gained a tremendous knowledge of rare coins and developed an outstanding eye for quality. He is a trusted friend and colleague to many of today's most active collectors. Having been a collector for so long, and a Heritage consignor himself, Mike understands the needs of the collector and what Heritage can offer. Jim Stoutjesdyk was named Vice President of Heritage Rare Coin Galleries in 2004. A native of Michigan, Jim has been actively involved in numismatics since a young age and the American Numismatic Association named him their Outstanding Young Numismatist of the Year in 1987. After graduating from the University of Michigan he was employed by Superior Galleries in Beverly Hills, California where he eventually became their Director of Collector Sales.

Since coming to Heritage in 1993, Jim has assumed a wide variety of responsibilities. He initially was hired as the Gallery Manager for Heritage's retail showroom. For several years he helped to develop Heritage's retail clientele and placed millions of dollars worth of rare coins with collectors. Jim's talent for writing and passion for numismatics led him to become the editor of Heritage's Insider magazine. From 1998 to early 2000 this bi-monthly publication brought collectors the latest offerings from Heritage's inventory and featured a wide variety of informative articles. With the rapid development of Heritage's web site and instant access to our inventory, the Insider magazine was phased out. Jim's interest turned to wholesale trading and he quickly became a familiar face at coin shows across the nation. As Vice President, Jim's duties include buying and selling millions of dollars worth of rare coins each year, pricing all of the new coins available for sale each day, and overseeing the daily operations of the rare coin department.

Jim met his wife Amy at Heritage where she serves as the Wholesale Administration Manager. They married in 1998 and have a son Blake and a daughter Emily. While away from Heritage, Jim enjoys spending time with his family and traveling to new places.
